Mecca Bingo Review

Mecca Bingo has been something of a “household name” for bingo players in the UK since the 1960s.

While this is mostly thanks to their wide network of brick-and-mortar venues, for about a decade now, the company has also been bringing the same excitement with its online platform.

About Mecca Bingo

The Rank Group – the largest casino operator in the UK – is Mecca Bingo’s parent company.

In fact up until the late 1990’s Mecca Bingo was once called Top Rank!

Licenses and Awards

Mecca Bingo continues to operate under not one, but two gambling licenses:

Mecca Bingo License

Mecca Bingo won the WhichBingo 2018 Awards for Best Playtech Bingo Site, Best Customer Service and the Most Socially Responsible Operator in that same year.

In 2019, the company also won WhichBingo’s Best Customer Service and EGR’s Marketing and Innovation Awards for Innovation in Bingo.

Bingo Games At Mecca Bingo

Bingo Games At Mecca Bingo

Mecca Bingo offers a wide range of bingo games, including:

  • 90 ball rooms (Penny Lane, Deal or No Deal*, and more)
  • 80 ball bingo
  • 75 ball rooms (including a Deal or No Deal room)
  • Special rooms (including Britain’s Got Talent Bingo, Emoji Bingo, Snakes and Ladders, X Factor Bingo, and more)

Many of these games are exclusive to Mecca Bingo, such as the Emoji Bingo, X Factor Bingo, Linka Balls Bingo, and Burst Bingo.

Emoju Bingo

What’s Deal Or No Deal Bingo? Deal or No Deal Bingo (also called DOND) is a game format that uses the same tickets and strips as the 90 Ball (or alternatively, in Mecca Bingo’s case, the 75 Ball) draw.

The Banker will offer the winner a deal! Accept the advertised prize or open the mystery prize box!

Games run fairly regularly on Mecca Bingo’s website and apps.

If you take a look at their schedule, there are rarely fewer than 5 games starting within the next 6 minutes (on average).

Cards typically cost anywhere from 3p to £1. Most cost 5p, 10p, or 20p, with the Turbo Gold Bingo a little more expensive at 25p.

While some of the specials (Mecca Bingo exclusives) also fall under this range, some – like Emoji Bingo – cost £1 per card.

Some bingo games, such as the Burst Bingo exclusive, only let you buy 1 card per game.

However, Mecca Bingo will also let you decide how much you want to pay for that card, usually with a minimum of 25p and a maximum of £3.

Burst Bingo

The higher your stake, the bigger your potential prize, with some games going as high as £140.

Plus, depending on the room – and the other players who join the same room – you might find there’s a lot of friendly chatter; the same as you would get at a club.

Mecca Bingo recently redesigned their online and app-based platforms.

The new pastel pink and purple colour schemes are very easy on the eye and make for an appealing first impression.

Mecca Bingo Design

However, if you prefer something a little more masculine, there’s also the option to customize the colour scheme in your account settings.

A lot of thought went into the new design, with plenty of customer feedback taken into account.

One of the interface updates allows you to favourite bingo rooms so you can easily gain access with a single click so the site is very easy to navigate.

Mecca Bingo Mobile

Mecca Bingo Mobile

There are a few different mobile apps to choose from:

  • Mecca Bingo (iOS and Android)
  • Mecca Slots (iOS only)
  • My Mecca App (iOS only)

Even if you aren’t interested in anything other than bingo, it’s worth installing the My Mecca App too.

You’ll get special access to everything available on the website, as well as exclusive offers and updates on any events happening at the nearest brick-and-mortar club.

However, if you prefer hedging your bets, you’ll enjoy the Mecca Bingo app, which gives users exclusive access to the Best Odds Bingo games.

These rooms have a maximum allowance of 25 players with 10 cards each.

Mecca Bingo Jackpots

Mecca Bingo Jackpots

Mecca Bingo jackpots are also really interesting, though they aren’t always available.

Using the Burst Bingo example, if you get Full House within 19 calls, you could win £500+. And if you hit the Burst Big One Jackpot (Full House in 16 calls), the collective prize starts at £2,500.

But prizes can also reach astronomical heights. Depending on the game you choose, you could get featured (albeit temporarily) on the Mecca Bingo homepage for winning a huge jackpot of up to £1.6 Million!

Mecca Bingo Jackpot Winners

I really like the community section where you can see the latest winners and even the big winners.

Mecca Bingo VIP

Every time you play in a game of bingo you’ll win points which you can exchange for promotions or prizes.

Mecca Bingo Points

Unfortunately, Mecca Bingo doesn’t have VIP points or a loyalty program like some of their competitors.

There are always plenty of promotions available to all members, including a £30,000 Sensational Sundays Gold Rush bingo at Mecca Bingo.

You can also cashout and deposit at your local Mecca Bingo Club!

Or join one of the many chat rooms under the Community tab, which also offers links to all of the company’s social media.

Mecca Bingo Reviews – What Are People Saying?

Although WhichBingo is rather fond of Mecca Bingo (having granted several awards over the past few years), the user reviews are a little mixed.

Based on 150 comments, Mecca Bingo has an average score of 3.63/5 points.

The overwhelming majority are highly positive!

Many are saying that Mecca Bingo is the best bingo platform they’ve come across.

Even looking at some of the more negative reviews, players usually agree Mecca Bingo is their favorite bingo site, but they’re giving lower scores because they “don’t always win”.

Should You Join Mecca Bingo?

Having spent some time on Mecca Bingo’s site and testing their app, I feel like this is the best online bingo site I have ever played on.

I found the players and chat hosts friendly and welcoming too!
