Beacon Bingo Helps Raise Hundreds in Support of Cancer

Beacon Bingo, located in Cricklewood Broadway, showed once again that the game of bingo is all about community by providing the venue for the Macmillan Day event.

Organized by Jackie Campbell and Annette Willis, Macmillan Day has been hosted at the Cricklewood Broadway venue for 3 consecutive years now.

Both Campbell and Willis lost loved ones to cancer and started the Macmillan Day initiative as a memorial. More than that, Macmillan Day is also a social gathering where others who lost friends and family to cancer can come together.

Mary Price and Lynne Jones, friends of Campbell and Willis, as well as one of Beacon Bingo’s members, Violet Weekes, joined in preparing cakes and other treats.

A total of £246.80 was raised through sales toward family support. In the evening, Beacon Bingo sponsored prizes for a raffle, thus helping to raise another £65.

Campbell, speaking on behalf of everyone involved with the Macmillan Day, said they were incredibly grateful for the level of support given to them by Beacon Bingo’s management and staff.
